The replacement is 3/32" smaller than the original. It is loose in the metal frame and slides out when pouring the last cup.
I broke the original beaker when I was cleaning it. This replacement beaker is just like the original - Same size and shape.
Glass is thicker than original. I was considering buying a new press when realizing that you can buy just the replacement glass. Less than half price of the complete press.
Numerous times on this page this beaker is described as being 4 1/3 inches wide and one time it's true size 5 1/2 inches is stated. May it be known, this one is NOT 4 1/3 inches wide.
Although this was a little pricier than I would have liked, the replacement beaker fits, and I'm glad I could order one after breaking the original.
